a gift for the guest of honour

'Reef ', Scubazoo's newest and most ambitious publication to date, is a 360 page coffee table book and 30 min DVD published by Dorling Kindersley (DK) and was officially launched on Tuesday 11th September 2007 in Waterstones, Piccadilly, London. It was a huge success and garnered rave reviews from all who attended including editors and journalists from magazines such as Vogue, National Geographic Kids, Cosmopolitan and Diver.

Today, the launch was held at Le Meridien , officiated by the Tourism Ministry. The launch started off with a 15 minute long presentation by the three Scubazoo members- Jason Isley, Roger Munns and Simon Enderby, followed by a speech by Deputy Tourism Minister, Datuk Karim Bujang, a Press conference and finally book signing session.

Although not as glamorous as the London launch, it was well organised and the presentation was very impressive. Echoing the sentiment of the guest of honour, the quality of the the publication and the presentation is the best I've seen and I believe everyone who attended will agree with me .

Knowing the Scubazoo family personally, I can tell you that they are very passionate in what they do and are also the most hardworking people I know . They always strive to produce only the best possible work and are superstars in their own right. As Roger mentioned during the presentation, it takes a lot of Patience, Perseverence and Passion to produce images that portrays the real behaviour of the underwater life. My hat goes off to all of them. Much respect.

'Reef' is Scubazoo's second coffee table book, the first one was 'Sipadan Mabul Kapalai-Sabah's Underwater Treasure'

Both books are available at all major bookstores. You can also purchase the books online from the Scubazoo website. Click here

Mama

Mama (my grandma) has been admitted to the hospital, again. Her condition has deteriorated and she is not getting better. Went back to Keningau to see her yesterday. She managed a few words and a smile for me. But she can barely move. So frail, so weak.

I held her hand for a long time while she rested. H
er hand looks frail and small. But even so, I will always remember it as the hand that used to care for me. The hand that used to play 'aeroplanes' with the spoon when she fed me as a toddler ..and that wiped the tears off my face when I cried over a silly tiff with my siblings..The hand that held mine, comforted me and made me feel safe.

It hurts to see her suffer. It hurts to see her so helpless. It hurts that I can't do anything to help her.

Confessions of a Facebook Junkie

yeah..yeah..i bet most of us are..admit it or not..lol.. here's some signs ..just in case you're not sure..

15 Signs You're Addicted to Facebook
by Glamour

1. Work has become a nice break from Facebook, rather than the other way round.

2. When you're not on Facebook, you're trawling the internet for a new job as you're convinced you'll be sacked for excessive Facebooking very soon.

3. The first thing you think when you
are fired for excessive Facebooking is, 'Great, now I can spend more time on Facebook.'

4. You've become a Facebook pusher. "Try it once, you'll love it..." you say to networking virgins.

5. You obsessively check your friends'/ex-boyfriends'/total strangers' list of friends to see if they have more than you. And if they do...

6. ...you become a friend thief. Who cares if you don't know them? All's fair in love and Facebook war...

7. The last time you had any intimate contact was when you were 'poked' by some guy you haven't seen for two years. Actual sex is so last century.

8. You've just spent the last hour looking at photos of someone you don't even know.

9. When it comes to meeting people, if they're not 'on' they're not worth bothering with. Who needs real friends when you're trying to reach the elusive 150 mark with your virtual ones?

10. You forget your best friend's birthday but you figure she'll be perfectly happy if you 'gift' her a cocktail and a Happy Birthday balloon.

11. You've had three group invites this morning but seem to be having yet another quiet night in tonight.

12. You turn down a night out at the pub quiz to play
Scrabulous. Its a game, you're playing it with a friend and having a drink while you do it. What's the difference?

13. When it comes to solving real-life problems, your Magic 8 Ball application has made decision making easy. So what if you were in love with the guy it told you to dump? Plenty more fish in the Facebook sea...

14. You haven't had a food fight for ten years but now your day isn't complete until you've thrown something at a friend. It's a sign of affection, you know.

15. You're dreading your holiday because you can't face going cold turkey.

T
here you have it..if you have any other symptoms, do share..sharing is caring..haha!
