Mama

Mama (my grandma) has been admitted to the hospital, again. Her condition has deteriorated and she is not getting better. Went back to Keningau to see her yesterday. She managed a few words and a smile for me. But she can barely move. So frail, so weak.

I held her hand for a long time while she rested. Her hand looks frail and small. But even so, I will always remember it as the hand that used to care for me. The hand that used to play 'aeroplanes' with the spoon when she fed me as a toddler ..and that wiped the tears off my face when I cried over a silly tiff with my siblings..The hand that held mine, comforted me and made me feel safe.

It hurts to see her suffer. It hurts to see her so helpless. It hurts that I can't do anything to help her.

1. Work has become a nice break from Facebook, rather than the other way round.

2. When you're not on Facebook, you're trawling the internet for a new job as you're convinced you'll be sacked for excessive Facebooking very soon.

4. You've become a Facebook pusher. "Try it once, you'll love it..." you say to networking virgins.

5. You obsessively check your friends'/ex-boyfriends'/total strangers' list of friends to see if they have more than you. And if they do...

6. ...you become a friend thief. Who cares if you don't know them? All's fair in love and Facebook war...

7. The last time you had any intimate contact was when you were 'poked' by some guy you haven't seen for two years. Actual sex is so last century.

8. You've just spent the last hour looking at photos of someone you don't even know.

9. When it comes to meeting people, if they're not 'on' they're not worth bothering with. Who needs real friends when you're trying to reach the elusive 150 mark with your virtual ones?

10. You forget your best friend's birthday but you figure she'll be perfectly happy if you 'gift' her a cocktail and a Happy Birthday balloon.

Hot day, Hot gardener, etc...

Hot,hot day! Wish I was lying by the pool at Pan Pacific, looking out to the azure sea, with a good book, sipping a Pina Colada...mmm..

Instead, I'm home again today..sitting by the garden.watching my hot gardener work the garden..hehe..yes..i am so Gabrielle..as if! (where to find hot gardener in Asia? OM gere-gere ada lah..lol)

Had dinner at Yoshimi,a Jap restaurant in Warisan Square last night with Shirley B & little Jamie. It was oishii ! Completely stuffed ourselves with delicious sushi, sashimi, unagi, fried scallops and more. Went to Starbucks afterwards for some coffee & blueberry cheesecake. It was nice just sitting there, chit-chatting with Shirley about everything and anything while Jamie entertained himself climbing up and down the huge armchair and running around wreaking havoc, as always. Went to Times to get some mags for ourselves and a book for Jamie. Shirley tried on a dress and a skirt at the over-priced Roxy. She initially wanted to get a small suitcase but it costs about RM700. Way too much. Didn't get anything in the end. Going to Kl next week anyway.

Just read today that AirAsia is flying to Singapore, twice weekly from KL..sweet.. more..
